Rogério Gomes holds a Degree in Law by the Faculty of Human Sciences at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP); a Master’s degree in Environment and Land Management by the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa; and a PhD by Universidade NOVA de Lisboa.
He founded Urbe – Núcleos Urbanos de Pesquisa e Intervenção in 1986, a NGO for urban rehabilitation and environment. Urbe later accomplished the presentation of Portugal’s candidacy to Expo ‘98.
More recently, Rogério Gomes has founded and is the president of Instituto do Território, a NGO with a scientific intent focusing on territory issues.
In addition to his scientific activity, Rogério Gomes is an assistant professor at the Master’s Degree in Urban Planning and Doctorate in Urban Planning at Universidade Lusófona.
